GAIA Rising

Site specific soundwalk
A guided meditation to reconnect with our individual and collective bodies, to enter into conversation with the planetary body, the center of the earth. Interweaving sonic elements of the cultural and botanical heritage of Parco delle Cascine with information on the history of power structures and plants co-creating the park, a new experiential dimension is created.

Black Med

Listening session
Black Med is a listening session reflecting on the Mediterranean Sea, once understood as a fluid entity aiding the formation of networks and exchange, is now the scenario of a humanitarian crisis and heated geopolitical dispute. Originally produced for Manifesta 12, following Alessandra Di Maio’s adaptation of the Black Atlantic theory to the Mediterranean, Black Med aims at intercepting the trajectories that sounds trace passing through this protean area, with a series of live acts and listening sessions.

From 22.30 pm until 8.00 am
Sleeping Concert

How does it feel to sleep lulled by music from night till dawn? Sound can envelop and influence our dreams, leading us into a state of greater consciousness of our oneiric dimension while allowing a deeper connection with the other bodies lying next to ours.

Enrique Ramirez
Un Hombre que camina

video, full HD, 2014, 21’30”
vo: Spanish sub: eng
Shot in the world’s largest salt flat, Uyuni in Bolivia, at almost 4.000 metres above sea level, Enrique Ramirez’s film is a poetic reflection on regional loss of identity, the desire of reconnecting historical and cultural separation in balance between tradition and modernity. As a modern shaman, the film’s protagonist undertakes an oneiric and surreal journey, a departure from his life with his face covered by a diablada mask.
The soundtrack was released by Hueso Records in 2018, founded by Ivàn Navarro.

Chirstian Naujoks
Live performance
In Florence Chirstian Naujoks he performs his latest album Wave, its most exquisitely melancholy and most expertly crafted work so far. A rarified and gently captivating expression of ambient romance.

Biodiversità Records (FossaDelRumore and USER FROM PT in X)
Logos Terapia

X takes its cue from an investigation into the digitalization of the frequency interferences that elapse between nature and the sleeping human being, both energy sources. Biodiversità Records is a Florence based independent label. Since its foundation in 2017, it is committed to safeguarding the biodiversity of its catalog, supporting musicians who share an interest in nature, ecology and experimentation.

Radio Papesse

Benjamin is a sound art festival at the tramway stops. Soundscapes and experimental sounds will take over the tramway speakers: 4 days, more than 40 sound artists and 12 stops to transform the waiting time into an imaginary journey!

Alpin Folks is a duo formed by Martino Margheri e Alessandra Tempesti (a.k.a Gea Brown). The duo formed in 2010 after the artists discovered a mutual interest towards some sounds of electronic music and an affinity for a visual imagery in which a Panic sense of nature recurs. After having dedicated their initial research to the sonic narrative found in imaginative experiences of the mountain (and of the Alpine peaks), Alpin Folks now concentrate their investigation on a broader concept of narration, giving shape to an inner landscape based on sampling, stratification of sonic forms and dramaturgy of the word.
